Day 20 - 40 Days of Blogging

A little comparison...I thought it would be fun to look back at my kiddos and see how much they look alike. We get told all the time that they look a lot like each other! In some of these milestone pics I can see it, and others I think they don't look as much alike...? Granted, these pics are just the first ones I could find, so I could probably dig a little more and find pictures that really match expressions, etc! What do you think...do they look like brother and sister??? ;)

Day 12 - 40 Days of Blogging

The other day I did some switching around in Ellie's closet! Seems like she outgrows things sooo fast and we are heading into warmer weather, so I figured it was time to pull out some sundresses and tank tops. (Hopefully this winter really isn't going to last forever and she will get to use these sooner rather than later!) We've been pretty blessed by our neighbor who has 2 little girls. Every so often I will get a message from her that if I want to come look at some of the clothes her girls have outgrown, she'll let me buy them! What an easy way to shop!!! Plus, she dresses her little girls in some of the most adorable outfits and most of it lines up exactly with what I would buy for Ellie anyway! And I'm totally okay with hand-me-downs! Yay! 

Now that I think about it, I should have pulled out a few of the adorable outfits to take pictures of...maybe next time! ;)

So many cute pj's! And I'm really happy to get these as hand-me-downs...because seriously, she just sleeps in them!

This drawer is all complete outfits...my fav! I really like when a shirt has a specific set of pants to go with it. Makes it so much easier when picking out her clothes for the day. Otherwise, I sit there and try to figure out if this shirt and that skirt go well or if they look a little odd together! Probably good thing I only have one little girl! ;)

Swimsuits and socks! I keep these in a small little bin on a lower shelf. I learned with Zay that little hands always want to help and when I'm putting away their clothes, she can throw her socks into this bin all by herself! Plus, even when she isn't eager to help, I can give her a 'job' to do...always trying to teach how to pick up after themselves and follow directions!

And plenty of shoes to play in this summer! :)

Day 10 - 40 Days of Blogging

A few of our favorite things...

It's fun to watch the different stages kids go through. What things they really get into and LOVE to do or watch or imitate. Here's a couple of my kiddos latest favorites! 

Makeup. Well, not so much just makeup...but anything that Mommy 'puts on'. Like lotion. Or hairspray. Or chapstick. Or hand sanitizer. Or...makeup! :)

Zay's favorite thing to do...make people laugh!!! I hear this from his teachers a lot too! He LOVES to make people happy. And he will make up jokes all day long...or just tell you the same joke over and over hoping that you will still laugh at it! :)

Baths! Some nights this girl will get down from the dinner table and go straight to the tub...she wants in, like NOW! ;)

Toy Story. Boy oh boy does this kid have a thing for Toy Story! Between his birthday and Christmas, he got a lot of the characters and it's pretty cute to watch him play with them just like Andy does in the movie. Cute, cute! :)

marshmallows & messes

I'm slowing adjusting to balancing my life at home with two little babes. Ok, I know Zay is far from a baby, but I still like to believe he's my little boy! 

Surprisingly enough, the transition to two kiddos has gone exceptionally well! I've been amazed that I can actually survive with a 2-year-old + a newborn + very little sleep! Yay me! 

However.........I am trying hard to find a balance between watching Mickey Mouse while mommy nurses Ellie and finding toys/games/activities for Zay to be entertained with. He generally does very well at playing by himself for awhile before needing my attention, but in our current situation Ellie seems to need me fairly frequently. Thankfully, this is frequently and not constantly! And thankfully Zay is understanding, patient and very helpful! 

I'm working on finding more activities for Zay to do independently with minimal supervision, but if anyone has some suggestions I would be thrilled to hear them! 

Today we had fun with some marshmallows and toothpicks! Simple. Easy. Fun!

And while we are busy with the afore mentioned tasks, projects and entertainment.....well apparently the toy cleanup isn't happening...!
