Day 40 - 40 Days of Blogging

Well - I made it...40 blog posts! Might not have been EACH and EVERY day, but I got 'er done! And I'm really excited because it was a GREAT challenge for me! And a great reminder why I take the time to do this blog-thing! It's such a great way to keep track of our memories. I've had so many people tell me that they have gone back to some of our older blog posts and read about our journey...and I have too! It's so fun to have this journal to see where we were 4 or 5 years ago, compared to where we are today! And there is no doubt that it's only by God's doing!

Sitting in church today, I was actually brought to tears thinking about how amazing this day is. Resurrection day...Jesus is ALIVE and he's ALIVE in my life! I'm so blessed to know Jesus and to know what Jesus did for me and for my husband and my children...and for YOU! Thinking about what Jesus did on the cross for ME, I can get pretty emotional and pretty pumped up at the same time. He loves ME that much. God loves ME that much. Thank you - thank you, Jesus!

Happy Easter from our family to yours! :)

Easter

We enjoyed some Easter celebrations this last weekend with both sides of our family! Lots of pictures to reminisce the good times!

Easter egg decorating with cousins!

Grandma Becky helped Zay put stickers on his eggs! Thankfully this was satisfying for Zay and he wasn't even concerned that the other kiddos were dipping eggs in dye.

The wonderful egg creations - even some of Zay's stickered eggs got dipped for some fun polka-dotted eggs.

And on to the great outdoors...most of the fun is outside at Grandma's and Papas! Like, playing with balls and dancing around the patio!

Isn't she a beautiful little girl...turning TEN this week! Ah...when did that happen?

Papa Jim decided it was time to get the four-wheelers out. This time Zay road his OWN little four-wheeler! Oh my, this picture describes the lack of attention Zay still has for steering. But you can't miss his monstrous smile - he LOVED that four-wheeler!

The boy has no fear - up and over the rock pile!

I love how this picture illustrates the moment...Zay cruising as fast as his little wheels will take him, Shane walking swiftly behind him and Bailey skipping alongside while barking at how out-of-control the whole situation seems.

And this one is almost as good...Zay's face says "Dad, I'm stuck..this rock won't move" ...While Shane tries desperately to reason with his 2-year-old, saying "Zay, you have to steer, otherwise you RUN INTO ROCKS!". Ha...and of course Mom sits back and takes pictures of it all! ;)

Regardless of the number of times he ran into rocks, the boy had fun. This, I am sure.

And Papa Jim didn't leave the other grandkids out - thankfully, they are much more experienced on their four-wheelers!

Off to Grandma Judy's we go!

Bubble-blowing is one of Zay's favorite things to do with Grandma Judy. Mommy doesn't quite have the patience like Grandma when it comes to bubbles...AND Grandma lets the bubbles get blown INSIDE the house. Lucky boy...

What? Hold up...someone turned on a BALL GAME! We must cheer now!

The popular ingredient in Zay's Easter baskets...raisins!

Zay toting his Easter bucket around...his favorite item? A Mickey Mouse shirt - we had to wear it over our t-shirt yesterday (it's sleeveless) and again over our pajama shirt to bed last night. He's got some killer fashion sense, I mean he was seriously out-of-this-world stylish yesterday!

And I don't feel like I can leave this Easter post without stating how thankful I am that Christ paid the ultimate price for us. The song I've been remembering all Easter week sings: "Jesus paid it all! All the Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow." How blessed we are to have our Savior!
