These two. They definitely had celebrations to remember today! THE BEST Halloween to date!!! Ellie's preschool class went downtown trick or treating this morning. It took me a second to catch on, but her awesome teachers were at the beginning of the group handing each business a special toy for them the hand to Ellie. As soon as we got to the front, they saw "Supergirl Ellie" and she received something in her bag that she could actually enjoy! It was an awesome surprise and soooo thoughtful!! Then Zay's class invited me to come paint teal pumpkins with them! We talked about the Teal Pumpkin Project and everyone had a blast decorating their pumpkins..paint and glitter make everything fun!! :) Also, Zay's teacher and school nurse called me weeks ago to talk about his snack, so he was included in the celebration. AND one of the Mom's was thoughtful enough to bring Skittles (a Phe-free candy) as their treat for the class! People really are soooo nice!!! Shane and I are constantly blown away by the thoughtfulness of this community! We are truly so grateful for the many people that make our kids feel not necessarily special, but just normal. This takes more effort from so many people and it never once goes unnoticed by our family!!! Blessed doesn't even begin to describe how we feel! Thank you...ALL of you!!!

Earlier today, Ellie tried convincing me that she needed a different outfit because, the dress that she was wearing was too soft and colorful. Tonight, she tries to tell me she needs to change her underwear, naturally it was uncomfortable due to the lack of pictures on them. I mean, how dare I dress my kids in soft, colorful clothes and put plain underwear on them...CLEARLY that would make a child uncomfortable!! Thank goodness we have Christmas jammies, they seem to be just the ticket!! ;)

Zay brought home his library book today. A dictionary of African American history. Daddy and Zay had quite a productive night of discussions. In the end, it took a wild turn and ended with Zay wanting to know if the planet Venus was larger than Earth...? Ellie and I... Well, our reading was a bit the lighter side. ;)

Isn't it awesome how kids just know how to spread the love!? They don't even have to try. Love just ooozes out of them. We made applesauce a couple weeks ago and Zay INSISTED we share some with his friend Hannah. As silly as I felt walking up to Hannah's mom to give her a random jar of applesauce yesterday, we delivered on that request.
