babe and her bed + boy and his ball

Our morning has comprised of this little lady not wanting to nap. Seems as though a long Thanksgiving weekend has given her full rights to her own schedule...which would entail no naps. Mamma says "Not happening!". Thankfully, she's still fairly impressionable and with some strong persuasion she is slowly giving in. Bless her heart.

Since the opportunity presented itself, I thought it was only appropriate to snap a few pics of her WIDE awake in her crib!

And............we're done!

And while little sister tries hard to control mom's attention, this little guy tugs at mom's leg. "Basketball, Mom...Mom, play basketball with Zay-Zay!".

Ah, such is life with two youngsters. Dishes need washed. Laundry needs folded. Floors need swept.

But babes need to be nursed. And boys need to be chased.

I sometimes confuse my priorities as a mom...but today the dishes are dirty, the laundry is piled high in a basket and my little boy's knees are the only thing that has swept the floor.

It's a good day.

Zay goes to school!

A few weeks ago Zay started going to school! Well...not actually school, but he gets to go to the Mount Vernon elementary to see a speech pathologist each week. He thinks he's pretty special and does so well while we are there! Zay's speech has come a long way from a year ago! Now he talks non-stop, but he has some troubles with enunciating certain sounds.

His teacher works so well with him and Zay works so hard for her. I love hearing from a teacher how smart Zay is and how well behaved he is. (So far he hasn't acted up in school!) Of course I've always believed he is a smart little cookie, but hearing it from other people makes me happy too! :)

I also enjoy watching how much he is learning each week and how exciting 'going to school' is for him. Now he wants the school bus to stop at our house and take him to school! Slow down, buddy! Mom is not ready for you to go to school just yet!!! :)

Cloth Diapers!

I thought I should give a well deserved shout out to cloth diapers! I switched Ellie over to cloth a few weeks ago and I'm truthfully LOVING them! No lie! I was hesitant at first, even if I did have tons of friends that have sworn by them.

But my honest review, I simply think they are fantastic! The only fault I can see with them...they are a little bulky on Ellie. Probably my fault because I got the all-in-one diaper, because I didn't want to have to buy new ones each time she went up a size. However, she is quickly growing into them and they really aren't bad at all! Plus, like I said in a previous post...she looks stinkin cute in them! See for yourself! :)

Thanks for the sippy cup, Bro!

I can't help but LOVE these tiny toes! They bring me so much joy. Every. Day.

Mommy & Zay Date!

The other day grandma Judy was in town, and she's always so willing to babysit if I need to run an errand or whatnot. I really appreciate having an extra hand every once in awhile and I decided that it would be fun for Zay and I to have a little date! So much fun to have a chance to fully focus on my little man for an entire morning! He's growing and changing so fast these days...so proud of all the things he is learning!

Official 2 Month Stats

Ellie had her 2 month appointment yesterday! Let me tell you, she is trying hard to catch her brother! So happy for a healthy, growing baby! Her official stats...

Weight: 11 lb 14.5 oz (I think that puts her around the 75th percentile...a big jump from the 25th percentile at her 2 week appt!)
Height: 22 3/4 in (around the 50th percentile)

And just for fun...a look back at Zay! I think he was just shy of 2 months in this pic and he lost all his hair on the top of his head! His stats at 2 months old:

Weight: 12 lbs 7 oz
Height: 22 3/4 in

Thankful!

Being the month of November and all I thought I would finally get this post up and give a BIG shout out to our parents! Both my mom and dad and Shane's mom! They all have helped out in so many ways...when you move, renovate a house, have a baby, and change positions at your job...all within a matter of weeks, things can be a little hectic!!!

I'm so thankful and I probably haven't told them enough how much I appreciate their help! Here are a few pictures of just one area we've reaped the benefits of our family's help...yard cleanup! Our house hadn't been lived in for over 5 years before we bought it...needless to say, the yard was a tad overgrown!

(A picture when we still had Bongo! Still miss that pup!)

Probably Shane's favorite part of yardwork...driving Dad's Ranger!

Zay was a BIG helper too!

Thanks to Dad's handiwork with his skid-steer, we have a driveway!
