4 Month Stats & Other Updates

Today we had Isaiah's 4 month Dr. Appointment.

We found out that it's not just our imagination...our little guy IS growing like a weed!

Weight: 17.2 lbs (90th percentile)
Height: 25 in (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 44 cm (90 percentile)

Everything went very well at his appointment. He got three shots today and he was a champ! Just fussed a little when they poked him, then he was done crying and started giggling at the nurses. What a good little boy! It didn't surprise me he was so strong, because he never cries when we do his heal pricks during the week. Poor thing is so used to getting poked, he doesn't hardly even notice it any more!

We might be starting some rice cereal soon! We will talk to our dietitian next week to be sure, but sounds like he might be ready for it! Let the fun begin! Next weekend we will be attending a cooking class for PKU families. I'm excited to start learning how to cook for our little boy!

Also, an update on our insurance company situation. We found out that Shane's company is self-insured. Which we are hoping is good for our situation. Basically it means that Waterloo Industries (actually Fortune Brands that owns Waterloo Industries)uses United Healthcare to administer their plan, but WI has the ultimate decision on whether they will cover Isaiah's formula. This is making it a little easier for us, because Shane is able to talk to people he actually knows and works with about the situation, not an insurance company that doesn't know us at all. We are still waiting to hear what is going to happen, but things are looking a little more hopeful for us! We are blessed!

That's all for now...hopefully more pictures in another post later! :)

Good luck with the cereal...let me know how it goes! Isn't it exciting? I was so happy when I was able to start feeding Carson. It does get more complicated, but still fun! Enjoy...and be sure to take some pictures so we can see them!
